Dr. Joshua Greenwald typically performs breast reconstruction for patients who have lost one or both breasts due to aggressive breast cancer treatments. Depending on the health condition and desires of each patient, breast reconstruction can be performed either in conjunction with mastectomy (breast removal surgery) or at a later date when the breast tissues have healed. While immediate breast reconstruction provides psychological benefits, this procedure is not appropriate for all patients.
