Precision Tx Laser Facelift

Laser Facelift (Precision Tx) in New York City & Westchester County

Manhattan, Harrison, & Carmel, NY

Individuals who are frustrated with sagging skin and / or a loss of muscle tone throughout the lower face and neck now have an alternative treatment option to facelift cosmetic surgery: Precision Tx. With Precision Tx, also referred to as laser facelift, Joshua A. Greenwald, MD, FACS, can tighten loose skin and the underlying musculature in the lower face and neck area, without the need for stitches or a long recovery period.

Advantages of Laser Facelift

Precision Tx is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses laser technology to rejuvenate the look of the lower face and neck. The laser technology allows Dr. Greenwald to use just a few tiny ports to access the treatment area, without the need for cutting or stitches. With laser facelift, patients achieve a smoother, tighter and more youthful-looking contour throughout the lower face and neck, with no bleeding, substantially less bruising and minimal downtime.

Additional advantages of laser facelift include:

  • A lifting effect throughout the lower face and neck
  • Tighter skin and restored muscle tone throughout the treatment area
  • Reduction in the appearance of wrinkles
  • A contouring effect throughout the treatment area
  • Restoration of the youthful-looking curves in the neck
  • Improved jaw line definition
  • Dramatic reduction of neck fat
  • Improvement of bulges below the chin
  • Virtually no scarring
  • Stimulation of the body’s latent collagen production

How Does It Work to Rejuvenate the Treatment Area?

Laser facelift involves the use of the highly sophisticated SideLaze 800™ Nd:YAG 1440-nm laser. The laser delivers heat to the tissue layers and musculature underneath the surface of the skin. Safely and precisely heating these deeper tissue layers causes existing collagen fibers to contract, thereby providing a tightening effect throughout the treatment area. In addition, the applied heat also stimulates the body’s dormant collagen production, causing the formation of new collagen, a protein that is essential to healthy, elastic skin. The result is tighter skin, restored muscle tone and a lifting effect throughout the lower face and neck area.  This is the only laser with the unique ability to directly target the undersurface of the skin, resulting in superior results compared to other modalities.

If necessary, the laser energy can also be used to emulsify stubborn pockets of fat below the skin, for a significant reduction of unwanted fat in the region. In certain cases, Dr. Greenwald may also employ a cannula to remove the excess fat from the neck.

The Laser Facelift Procedure

The entire procedure lasts about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the patient’s aesthetic goals, and is performed in Dr. Greenwald’s office. Dr. Greenwald administers local anesthesia and IV sedation before starting the procedure, so the patient does not feel a thing during treatment. He creates five miniscule entry ports: one under the chin, one under each earlobe and one at the lower edge of each sideburn. Dr. Greenwald then inserts the 2-mm laser fiber through the entry ports to deliver the laser energy deep beneath the skin’s surface. Once the area has been treated, Dr. Greenwald dresses the area with light bandages.

Individuals can return to work and their normal activities within about two days. Bruising and swelling are minimal and can be easily concealed with makeup.

Although some of the aesthetic benefits of laser facelift are noticeable soon after treatment, the results continue to improve over several months following the procedure, as the body produces more collagen. This one-time treatment provides lasting lifting, tightening and contouring effects.
