Botox Not Enough Anymore? A Brow Lift Could Help

Botox once smoothed your forehead and created a refreshed, youthful look — but it’s not working the same way anymore. Sound familiar? You’re not alone.
Many patients enjoy great results with Botox when they’re in their 20s and 30s, but as they age, it might not work quite so well.
Deepening forehead wrinkles, drooping eyebrows, or a constantly tired appearance are all problems that Botox may not tackle adequately. A brow lift or forehead lift could be a great option in this scenario.
In his plastic surgery practice in Manhattan and Harrison, NY, board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon Dr. Joshua Greenwald has performed thousands of facial rejuvenation procedures.
When Botox isn’t giving you the dramatic improvement you want, Dr. Greenwald uses advanced brow lift techniques to refresh your appearance and give you the youthful look you deserve.
Understanding the Brow Lift Procedure
A brow lift reduces wrinkles, raises sagging eyebrows, and smooths forehead lines. Dr. Greenwald is renowned for his expertise in brow lifts, and he draws upon diverse skills to perform several types of surgery.
These include:
- Traditional Brow Lift: The traditional or coronal brow lift involves a single long incision across the top of your head, hidden behind the hairline. Although once the standard approach, traditional brow lifts are now less common because, in many cases, Dr. Greenwald can achieve similar results with a less invasive approach. It may still be the right approach for severe forehead lines and wrinkles.
- Endoscopic Brow Lift: Dr. Greenwald’s favorite approach to brow lift, an endoscopic procedure features a series of much shorter incisions hidden in the hair. He uses an endoscope to view the inside of the forehead through a tiny camera and specialized surgical instruments to elevate and tighten the forehead tissues while smoothing the glabellar lines (between brow or “11” lines.) An endoscopic brow lift provides impressive results, and there’s far less risk of scarring.
- Minimal Incision Lateral Brow Lift: The minimal incision or temporal brow lift is often combined with blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery.) This approach requires slightly longer incisions near the temples. It focuses mainly on the outer brows to provide a subtle lift so that it could be a good option for milder lines and wrinkles in the forehead area.
Dr. Greenwald’s deep experience, unique skill for matching our patients to the ideal surgical approach, and support staff of highly trained nurses and anesthesiologists ensure you get the results you love.
Good Candidates For Brow Lift Surgery
You’re likely an excellent candidate for brow lift surgery if Botox isn’t providing the same results anymore and you desire longer-lasting results than nonsurgical methods can offer. Some of the concerns that brow lift corrects are:
- Noticeable forehead lines
- Persistent 11 Lines
- Significant forehead sagging
- A heavy-looking brow area
Dr. Greenwald carefully evaluates your facial structure, skin elasticity, and overall health during your consultation. He recommends the surgical approach that suits your aesthetic goals and customizes a surgery plan.
