Restylane® is a crystal-clear, biodegradable non-animal hyaluronic acid gel. Restylane® is injected into the superficial layers of the skin with a very fine needle to soften the appearance of deep facial folds such as the deep lines or creases running from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane® can also be used to provide volume to areas of the face which have “deflated” over time such as the lips and cheeks. It is a great solution to thinning, aging lips. These treatments require minimal or no downtime. Westchester plastic surgeon Dr. Greenwald will ensure your comfort by administering local anesthesia during the procedure. Most patients immediately notice a softening of facial lines and wrinkles or more defined, fuller lips. Just as with Botox, treatments must be repeated periodically. Hylaform, captique, and collagen are used in a similar fashion to restore volume in the face and lips.
